It would seem !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and that a moderator has lovingly massaged some of the words I wrote to relieve some of their tension.

First off I would like to say that my original statement was meant as more of a jab at homophobes and their coarse language as opposed to an insult to the homosexual community, and that the edit hasn’t, in my opinion, taken away from the tone of the writing.

But I do have a few questions, namely I would be interested to know who is responsible for said edits, and if there is a set of boundaries listed somewhere that I might use to avoid further moderation in future circumstances.

Do let me know if any of you have that kind of information.

Also I wouldn’t be surprised about people not seeing/hearing of it, due to the fact that it’s not stickied anywhere (not even sure if you can do that on Kinja), and the fact that the only thing anyone ever talks about that’s against the rules is porn, which is a pretty general one across the board.

Any particular reason you feel the need to single that one out? I made some jokes about G35 owners, so what? I’ve written jokes about Tahoe owners, Traverse owners, Sebring owners, hell, I even rip on the kind of people who drive the cars I’ve owned. They’re just jokes.

No not at all. I get it. I meant it in reference to the handbook post. My intention was to reinforce that the handbook does get reposted occasionally and most regulars have a pretty good idea of what it’s all about.

AMGtech is just saying that the rules of Oppo are mentioned pretty much on a daily basis, either when someone says “be excellent to each other,” or “don’t be a dick,” or when they literally mention “the rules of Oppo” or “the Oppo handbook,” or “the handbook” or “Rule number 1.”

Basically, it's next to impossible to miss the rules around here.

Well, you say that, but obviously it’s not next to impossible, or else I wouldn’t have. Obviously not being a complete dick goes without saying, but the more specific stuff isn’t often mentioned. Anyways, I’m just looking to avoid making any similar mistake in the future, so thanks for pointing me in the right direction on that. And I’ll try to remember you’re not a dude, but I make no promises.

Probably best not to make any assumptions about anyone’s gender around here to be honest. We have and welcome all types, not just the two standard, boring, generic types. Just trying to help :)
